Cognitive Enrichment Programs for Adults

The need to improve cognitive functioning is not limited to K-12 students. Many adults, including college students, could also benefit from studying IE. In response to interest from the industry in on-the-job training in thinking, communication, and problem solving skills, SCEL offers "Cognitive Enrichment for Adult Learners" by following a format somewhat similar to other implementation models. IE typically is taught in two hours sessions each week. Discussion and bridging activities appropriate for the client audience are planned.

FastTrack Program

SCEL staffers are available to implement the FastTrack program which is designed to strengthen problem solving and decision making skills for management personnel in business and industry as well as for classroom teachers. The FastTrack program would be an excellent professional development course for classroom teachers--especially those who have not had training in how to develop and teach cognitive skills.

MindMatters

MindMatters is a Cognitive Enrichment Course for Seniors. The goal of the course is to help adults maintain, enhance, and/or reclaim cognitive functioning while aging. The course is taught one or two days a week using Feuerstein’s Instrumental Enrichment materials.

Our Theoretical Base

Professor Reuven Feuerstein's programs are based on two very important theoretical principles – Structural Cognitive Modifiability and Mediated Learning Experience. For an elaboration of these theories, go to the ICELP web site at www.icelp.org.
